Confidence to Cook aims to promote healthy eating messages through practical hands-on cookery sessions, particularly in low-income communities with vulnerable groups. Sessions are run across Grampian in a range of venues.
Training for Trainers (T4T) courses are on offer for those who wish to deliver Confidence to Cook courses. The most recent course was held at the Williamson Family Centre, with a number of participants completing the training.
The course covers a range of subjects needed to deliver successful Confidence to Cook courses including practical cookery, adapting recipes, food hygiene, and key messages around nutrition and health.
The two day course was a success, with everyone enjoying the experience. Some commented:
“Enjoyed the practical, good discussions, passed quickly!”
“Interesting day with plenty of opportunities to get involved.”
“Covered a lot of good things and had a good learning/hands on balance. Good fun!”
The newly trained recruits join a growing community of Confidence to Cook trainers, and will be delivering courses in the near future.
