The most recent Training 4 Trainers class took place this week. The participants learned all about how to facilitate a cooking class in the community. On the second day they received FareShare food and were challenged to come up with recipe ideas – sharing awareness that often community trainers have to think on-the-spot about recipe ideas, working with whatever is available.
The feedback from the group was excellent, with many saying they’d learned a lot from the day. Members of Aberdeen Community Food Network were available onsite to talk to the group about the support available to them once they start delivering their own classes in the future.
Best of luck to all of those who took part – keep in touch to let us know how you’re getting on in your delivery of cooking classes in the future!
You are invited to the following event, hosted in partnership with Granite City Good Food, CFINE and Aberdeen Community Food Network:
We hope you can all make it. A programme will follow shortly, but in the meantime we are looking for community members/projects to host information stalls on the day, showcasing their fantastic work.
We also have a few spots left for people interested in giving a short presentation on their food projects on the day – from community café’s, cooking classes, lunch clubs or community growing activities (to name a few) – all food projects welcome!
Please let us know if you’d like to host an information stall or presentation on the day.
RSVP’s required by Friday 1st November 2018 (inc. dietary requirements).
Feel free to share this invitation widely.
CFINE is working in partnership with NHS Grampian to deliver the BabySteps Group Class. This free 8-week pre-natal cooking class covers simple, nutritious recipes and encourages the participants to take part in gentle walks during their pregnancy.
Healthy mamma = healthy baby!

Home-Start Aberdeen had great fun at their Summer cooking event attended by mums, dads, children, volunteers and staff. Thanks to all who came along and joined in. Everything looks delicious especially that cake 🍰
Thanks to CFINE for all their support and the use of their excellent facilities – Cook at the ‘Nook training kitchen.
We recently held a meeting at CFINE‘s Cook at the Nook kitchen focused on ‘Understanding Training 4 Trainers’ – where we took part in the NHS Grampian‘s Confidence 2 Cook training course, cooked meals from the recipe books, and fed back what we thought of it.
This feedback aims to ensure the course works well for community members & groups across Aberdeen.
